THE CITY CODE

100 circular policy measures from cities on every continent, and how your city can make them its own.

Cities are the world’s largest laboratory for circularity.

What I keep seeing is this: cities move first. While nations negotiate, a city changes a fee, a permit or a procurement rule, and within a year the trucks carry less waste and the workshops carry more work.

This brochure collects 100 of those experiments: ten for every rung of the 10R ladder, two in each of five world regions. Many are not famous, on purpose. The quiet cases often travel best.

Read them with one question in mind: could my city do this? Very likely, yes.
